Welcome

I'm creating this blog to make myself accountable to downsize. I've worked for a downsizing company and currently at an estate sale company. I've seen families overwhelmed  with their parents stuff and seniors in denial about how much they can take from the 4 bedroom colonial to the 2 bedroom condo. I'm not going to do that to my family. My New Year Challenge is to trash, donate or sell one item a day for 2018. Please feel free to join me on this journey. I've also created a Facebook group, 365 Day Challenge to Downsize. My plan is to post my daily progress there.

My husband and I have been talking about moving closer to his mother and the family farm for the past 2 years. We have even looked at a couple of places. To be honest with myself, I've been dragging my feet, as being so overwhelmed at the thought of packing up all this stuff and then finding places for it in a new home.

I did start the challenge on the 1st of January. It all started with tossing an old tattered and faded tank top. On the second I tossed some antique hand cream and on the third, I tossed a computer light that was half burned out. Yesterday, it was some canes, that were going to be donated, but they were stained and falling apart. Today I was going to put a miniature Christmas village in the donate box, but after looking at it, pieces where broken off, so it also went in the trash.  Please remember when donating, make sure your item is clean  and in working condition. Don't overwhelm the donation center with your trash.

I'll be back in a couple of days with more updates on my progress.
